ABOUT ME

This is a joint profile for my new wife and I. We just completed our hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2014 with our engagement at the beginning of the hike and our wedding at the end. It was an amazing 5 months in the world of my dreams. Now it is time for us to come back to reality, but not the same as we left for we have now seen behind the curtain of reality. We know the possibilities the world will manifest under our feet so long as we are brave enough to take the first step.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting. We surfed many a couch of many a trail angel while hiking the PCT and knew we would be more than happy to open up our home once we got back to it. Now we are doing our part to make north Texas a cooler and more welcoming place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A coworker sent a guy from San Diego on his motorcycle to my house without warning. This guy showed up at my workplace with nothing but my first name. That was my first hosting experience. It was awesome.

Fast internet, Cuben fiber sacks, Nemo tents, not dying in wildfires, milkshakes, and other thru hiker musings

We consider ourselves highly creative and we enjoy the stranger styles and fringe cultures to a great degree. More likely to find SyFy on than ABC. But still more likely to hear Songza 24/7 than the TV anyway. We get internet, not cable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok, so this was fun.
I was 20 and had never flown before, ever.
I took my first flight ever on August 25, 2008.
And then I jumped out.

Then I walked with my fiance across the country, vertically from Mexico to Canada. Then we got married. That was pretty cool too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love camping, climbing, caving, hiking and slacklining. I am by no means an expert but I enjoy doing them and sharing them. I also have a knack for being able to fix or build most anything.

Believe it or not, but I married a massage therapist. Turns out I'm not a total fool. Be as nice as you can be to her and something good might happen.
