ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Tom! I'm a 28-year-old Englishman. I love language, stand-up comedy, local sports stories, funk music, webcomics and many other things too - including travelling of course! I really enjoy meeting people from different cultures, backgrounds and countries and learning from them about all the different ways there are to live.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a fair few New Zealand couches and developed a healthy appetite for Kiwi sofa! Then expanded my gastronomic horizons with futons all over South America. Offered an amuse-bouche of London lilo to budding gourmands followed by a main course of Peruvian inflatable mattress. After working my through an all-you-can-eat Brazilian World Cup buffet, I've moved in with my girlfriend in Bogotá and together we serve up spare bedroom Peruvian-English fusion cuisine.

P.S. This metaphor may be dangerously overextended. Consume with caution.

P.P.S. Basically, I have couchsurfed in 5 or 6 countries since 2011.

Interessi

I love improvised, collaborative art in any form - it's one of the most human, fascinating, immediate, life-affirming things we can do. I also love amateur sport - the average local sports team has a dozen tales far more epic than the Greek myths. So inspiring. I can teach English/Spanish/French and saxophone and linguistics.
I would love to learn how to play bass and dance and cook, preferably all at the same time.

I love to share old stories and new experiences, preferably with something alcoholic. I can share advice with you about the places I have travelled and lived in, especially Peru. I'm very new in Groningen and the Netherlands, so I'm happy to explore the city with you and discover things about my new home.
