I love travelling, writing about my travels, living in and experiencing new cultures and (trying to learn) new languages. I've lived in the States, the Middle East and in Spain and I hope to keep adding to that list. Right now, I'm on a six month odyssey around South America.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm travelling around South America and spending far too much time with other backpackers and not managing to meet local people. I'd love to meet up for a drink or a chat or a wander with any locals in the places I visit, and hopefully practise a bit of Spanish.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm totally new to this website, but am hoping it will prove a great way to meet local people during my travels who I can one day count as good friends. And some day, when I settle upon a place, I will return the favour and play host to fellow CSers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling overland from London to Damascus, appearing in an Egyptian movie in Syria, and getting detained by Hizbollah in Lebanon. And now, this amazing journey I'm on through South America.

I love to learn new things every day, be it a useless statistic or a new culture, a silly anecdote or a new language.
Equally I love to share my own knowledge, be it a useless fact or a pearl of wisdom.
I also love (as a former English teacher) to empower others by helping them with their English, be it with a vital phrasal verb or an esoteric idiom.
