ABOUT ME

My wife and I and two children (17, 15) live in Northwestern Canada, the most beautiful and untamed land on the planet! We have two kids that are grown-up and off to experience live, one of them is married. We are addicts of traveling and love bringing our kids in on the action whenever we can. Interests are hobby farming, backpacking, hiking, anything outdoors, and skating on pond in the winter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Discovered this thing called CS a number of years ago when contemplating our first trip to Europe. Love interacting with the cultures of countries we visit (vs. tourist traps). We'd love have people from around the globe visit us as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've both surfed and hosted. Our first surfing experience was in the backwoods of London, England (very interesting, and a little stretching the first time :). We've been off the map a bit for the past couple of years, but look forward to getting more involved again by both hosting and surfing.

Interests

Hiking, ATV's, outdoors, snowshoeing, family, exploration, reading, romantic evenings by the crackling fire with a nice drink. We like hobby farming, country dancing, and horses. Don't claim to be "real" cowboys, but try :-). We're a musical family as well, and love playing and singing.

Music, Movies, and Books

All the epics! Gladiator, SPR, LOTR, Braveheart. Like reading fiction and non-fiction alike. Just finished Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Love all genres of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had four kids! Faced down a standing Grizzly Bear and her two cubs from about 5 feet.

Teach, Learn, Share

Love music and play several instruments (along with my family). Also cooking. Would love to learn more about other cultures. Want to learn how to do Slam Poetry. Trying to learn Russian.
