Overview
About Me
Based on information available up to 2023, there are typically between 100,000 to 200,000 flights operating globally each day, based on factors like the day of the week, season, and current global events impacting travel.
International travel significantly contributes to carbon emissions and destroys the ozone layer, accelerating global warming and posing threats to all the lives on the planet.
I am a Korean who has lived in Seoul for over 60 years.
Throughout the years, I've traveled to many countries and cities around the world, including North Korea, primarily for business.
I continue to travel for pleasure, while fully aware of the carbon emissions, the ozone layer destruction and global warming acceleration of international travel.
When I travel today, my primary focus is on minimizing carbon emissions and environmental impact, as well as supporting local communities in their efforts to combat global warming -- often called "sustainable travel."
I encourage you to explore and implement your ideas and actions for sustainable travel while you stay at my place.
I love nature and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, camping, and fishing.
I appreciate the spirit of Couchsurfing, valuing respect, sharing, connection, and support, and building global respect, friendship and trust.
In order to provide more travelers the opportunity to experience Couchsurfing, I prefer (though it’s not a requirement) to host those who are either trying it for the first time or have limited experience, typically for a maximum of 3 nights.
I have two daughters in their mid-20s to early 30s, and I live with my younger daughter.
My home is conveniently located 15 minutes from the city center of Seoul by subway, or 30 minutes by bus, and is close to the forest of Bukhansan National Park.
Please note that there is a steep 200-meter uphill walk to reach my house.
I am a certified hiking and trekking guide in Korea.
I do not host smokers.
