About Me
A fun-loving, high-energy, wine-drinking Gemini with a very curious mind and a huge heart who loves to meet new people. I do love to laugh!
I am an ENFP - Campaigner personality type, and that means people are my thing!
About to go into my final year of a BA in Strategic Communications degree from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Currently on a semester abroad at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, USA until 28 Dec 2016.
I have aspirations of a career in Academia in the form of university professorship, after obtaining my Masters hopefully in Europe or North America.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Currently on a semester abroad at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, USA until 28 Dec 2016.
I have traveled to three amazing cities in the USA but stayed in AirBnBs, which I found to be way too expensive and restrictive about when coming to meet new people. As a result of this, I am new to this service, but I am hoping to build a strong profile that will be beneficial to both myself as a host/surfer, as well as other users in their capacities as hosts/surfers.
I really am a fun time, and would LOVE to hang out with cool and like-minded people. Sharing experiences and stories is an amazing opportunity to learn about the world and its amazing people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a HUGE fan of old cinema and music.
I love Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Sarah Vaughan, as well as Judy Garland & Liza Minnelli.
Cinema would include the greats such as Grease, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, as well as To Kill A Mockingbird, to name a few.
I also love current music like Lady Gaga, Adele, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, ColdPlay, as well as Bruno Mars.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I applied for university, enrolled and went through an entire half-semester without any idea where my funding would come from.
As my motto goes, "Que sera, sera". I even have this tattooed below my collarbone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I speak isiXhosa, which is a click language of South African origin. People always marvel when I recite the lyrics to one of my favourite isiXhosa songs, and then later sing it for them.
I am also very willing to learn from others, and I believe I am quite good at telling stories.
Countries I’ve Visited
