ABOUT ME
The meaning of life is different for everyone. For me, its 1) to know more today than I did yesterday, 2) to lessen the suffering of others, and 3) to love and be loved.
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone lives in a bubble and are limited to some extents by it. Who we are is partially determined by our culture, gender, language, geography etc. The world is much bigger than the bubble we live in. It is much too beautiful and complex to understand it in one language, culture, ethnicity, etc.
I'd like to see the world outside of my bubble. In doing so, I'd like to expand my bubble, learn a few languages, meet interesting people, try new foods, share in music and dance, and expand on my main credo:
1) to know more today than I did yesterday, 2) to lessen the suffering of others, and 3) to love and be loved.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couch surfed through most of western Europe. I've met amazing people and am grateful for their hospitality, humor, and friendship. The experience definitely made the trip richer, more vibrant and colorful.
I love the idea of the site and am trying to be more active. My living arrangements right now make it hard to host. But I love meeting people from all around the world. Come by to Disneyland in Anaheim, California and ask me to hang out. I'll show you the local spots.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A great way to visit another country. The sites and attractions are great but so are the people. Couch surfing is a great way to meet locals.
Interests
I love learning about different cultures, food and especially languages. I enjoy reading, deep thinking, deep philosophical conversations, and music. Pick a language and I'll have an artist in mind. Of course I'm always open to new ideas.
Yoga, running, working out, boxing, weight lifting, I like to be active.
Learning new languages is very big for me. I'm currently teaching myself German and Russian. It's been mainly slow as I only talk to the computer and books. Eventually, I'd like to be fluent in German, Russian, Spanish,French, Italian, Chinese (Taiwanese), and Japanese.

Books: Mainly classics. Count of Monte Cristo was great. Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Slayer was good too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Near death experience: It was the summer after high school. I was at the beach with friends swimming when a large wave knocked me under water. I tried to regain my composure when another wave sent me tumbling. Vertigo sat in. I was under water longer than I could hold my breath. Panic filled my mind as i drank copious amounts of salt water. I thought I'd surely die. My brother rushed out and saved me. Worst part is it happened right in front of a life guard tower.
Ever since then, I take everyday as a gift. As scary as it was, It showed me how fragile, fleeting and beautiful life is.
2: The Grand Canyon at dawn. Enough said.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me to speak German, Russian, French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish. I'll share with you what I know.
Teach me a way of life I've never considered before. The unknown unknown appeals me as it opens your horizon. I've really only know the American way of life. I'd like to break out of that bubble and experience life in some one else shoes - someone who lives thousands of miles away, who speaks a different language and thinks differently. I love learning.
