About Me
Hi, my name is Thaiane and I'm 22 years old. I'm brazilian and living for a semester in Lisbon, Portugal, studying in Law School of da Universidade de Lisboa.
I was born in Rio de Janeiro and lived there part of my childhood, but my dad got transfered to Brasilia (capital). I'm proud to say that I have visited many parts of my country, and its diversity. But now it's time to me to explore other countries and their beauty. So from June 29 to July 29, I'll be traveling through Europe in order to visit new countries, meet new people and enjoy all of that.
I think i can describe myself as travel lover, enthusiastic, sometimes easy going, sometimes shy (lol), but i always want to be out of my confort zone.
Unfortunately, I can't host anyone in Lisbon bc I'm living in university residence and its strictly prohibited to bring people :(
Please, if you have any questions about me, I would be glad to answer and it would be the first step for us to know each other!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to bring with me to Brazil a lot of unforgettable memories and histories. In order to do that, I think the first step would be to get in touch with native people who knows the best places to go and the best people to meet!
This will be my first CS experience and I'm excited because my friends who did it, came with amazing histories and totally in love with the experience.
I wanna achieve a real and deep experience in all the places I'm going. So I think talk to people and realize how different we are and how many extraordinary cultures exist is gonna blow my mind!
Interests
Since I was a little girl, my dream was to become a diplomatic in order to get to know as many places and countries I can. Although my career plans changed a little bit (I want to be a corporative lawyer now), I still want to get to visit a lot of places!
So yes, traveling is my best interest. Because for me, in the end of your life, material things are not gonna matter anymore. Your life is gonna worth for the experiences that you have, the friends that you made and the stories you have to tell.
Besides that, I love music! I consider myself as eclectic, because I enjoy everything. Since I was 13, I play saxophone, so I am always listening to music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Since I play saxophone, I enjoy every kind of music. I think music is one of the things that makes you understand and get to know the culture of the people.
I love jazz, classical music, but I love music that you can dance, such as pop and latin songs.
It's hard for me to say which ones are my favourite movies and books, because I'm always watching new movies and reading new books. But I think for me, in movies subject: Se7en, Fight Club, Letters for Juliet, the Lord of the Rings.
And for books, I can say that in my childhood I loved Harry Potter and that I read it for thousands of times. And I think it's so wonderful a writer create this whole history and world using only her imagination.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmm, this is a hard question! But I think it was my first exchange, when I went to live in Canada for two months when I was 17, without my family and totally alone!
My hostfamily was part canadian and part chinese, and it was amazing to learn more about their mixing of culture! It was the first time I saw snow and caught really low temperatures, like -30 degrees!
But i wouldn't change anything, I grew up so much and back then, I knew that my dream of visiting a lot of countries, was totally worth it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could try to cook you some traditional dishes of brazil, although I'm not a great cooker!
But I can try to teach you Portuguese! And some traditional dances of Brazil, like forró, sertanejo, funk and samba!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, tips, histories and a big smile!
