About Me

***ukranian refugees welcome***

POR____

ENG____

I used to be really shy, but after living in the U.S. I kinda lost some of that (I'm originally from Brazil). I'm still quiet though, unless I'm around close friends... My friends would never describe me as shy. I just take a while before I start really talking, I like to observe the environment first.

I've lived in a few different places, currently I'm Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I moved here in the beginning of 2015, before that I lived in Fortaleza. I spent a semester abroad in Europe during college where I did some traveling, met cool people and discovered Couchsurfing!

Culture is my passion, I love to observe and discuss the diferences and talk to people who have different perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meeting people and traveling like a local. To me, the best way to really get to know a place is through an insider's perspective.

I've only hosted twice so far, but i've couchsurfed 3 times. I also met up with two people through CS events that have become lifelong friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met an Austrian in Sevilla, Spain, who offered his brother's apartment in Vienna for me and my ex-boyfriend to stay at. It was an amazing experience. Great people, we felt very welcome and comfortable. Best part of Vienna was meeting them! That was my first (unofficial) CS exprience, after that I stayed in two places through CS in Paris and at a very nice woman's house in Bilbao.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Cuba by far was the most intense experience. Difficult, yet very enriching. I could talk for hours about my 20-day trip.
-Visiting the mayan ruins of Tikal in Guatemala was amazing.
-Driving on the 101 from San Diego to Los Angeles and stopping at all the towns and fresh food markets!
- Valle de Cocora hike in Colombia
- Lived in Florence for a month. Loved every second of it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess tolerance is something I've been trying to teach to intolerant people I've come across. Opening minds is a challenge.. Opening our own minds sometimes is even harder!

I've had the privilege to meet very different people throughout my life, which allows me to navigate diverse social circles. I try to bring that perspective in conversation and I also like it when people teach me different ways to see things.
