A few things really make me passionate...
...I love to jump in water (ocean, lakes, rivers) at any time of year, I'm always game for a polar plunge
...anything to do with beekeeping and honey production. If you have beehives, let me know.
...architecture (drawing and building models), contemplating ways urban planning and design can be applied to create more intelligent rural "development" projects
...good films from so many genres
...being outside--hiking, climbing trees, sleeping on beaches, yodeling to the skies

I am an open friendly person with a quirky sense of humor (though it may be slow to show itself). I love to travel and see new places and people. I like to read and learn about the history of a place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I am a surfer. One day, when I am more stationary, I look forward to hosting and returning the generosity I have come across so many times during my wanderings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS has made the last year of travel so much more rich and interesting--I've met incredible people and learned so much just by witnessing different modes of living. I love that so many different people can come together with an openness to encounter new people with such generosity. So after a lot of traveling in Europe, I'm hoping to have some exciting CS adventure stateside!

Seeing pink northern lights fill the sky during a cold Vermont night in '03. Trekking through a Ladakhi village in wintertime--lots of snow and poor visibility...when I awoke in the morning, seeing the Himalaya all around. I climbed a nearby peak and sat on a ridgeline watching snow-capped mountains emerge as the clouds rolled back.
