About Me

I am currently studying Plant Science at the Eden Project.
I enjoy travelling alot but whilst I have just committed to being a poor student for 2 years it's unlikely I'll get to travel much, so I would still like to talk and learn from people all around the world without spending any money!
Message me if you'd like to hang out and I can be try to be your tour guide around Falmouth

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always waned to travel, ever since I was a kid I wanted to. My Grandad was part of the merchant navy and always used to tell wild stories about his travels, then I started reading books by travelers like Kerouac and Lucy Irvine and such books only added fuel to my desire to travel. I went traveling around Guatemala, Belize and Mexico from November 2016 until May 2017 which were my first proper travels outside of family holidays and so much about that trip didn't plan out the way it was supposed to and everything that went wrong turned out so very right in the end and gave me more of a taste to travel.

I went lone travelling for a month and a half in Europe this summer too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film: I love animation! and I love Indie movies, artsy movies, disturbing movies, fantasy... I am a movie obsessor.
Pans Labyrinth, Studio Ghibli, Persepolis, Wes Anderson Movies, The Dreamers, Lost in Translation, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ex Machina.. I love being transported into a different world.

Also TV, Bojack, Black Mirror, Sense 8

Books: Haruki Murakami books, Everything is Illuminated, The Little Prince...

Music: I like ALL genres; every genre has something to offer. I used to be obssessed with Indie music, but more recently have branched into an obsession folky-bluesy-stuff. I'm terrible at talking about music but I love to listen to it.
I like Shakey Graves, the Districts, Cosmo Sheldrake, Arctic Monkeys, The Doors, Grimes, Interpol, Blondie, Bombay Bicycle Club, Placebo, Cage the Elephant, XXYYXX, the Amelie soundtrack, Noname Gypsy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My ex partner and I lived in Livingston, Guatemala for a month and a half. House sitting, also dog and cat sitting. The house was in a Mayan village in the jungle around a 35 min walk from the main town, no running water or electricity in the house we were looking after, there were big barrels to collect rain water for washing,. The toilet was a 13 ft hole in the ground with a wooden plank over it suspended by sticks built by our 15 year old neighbor. It was an amazing experience.
