About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I just had pages added to my passport and I have until 2016 (expiration date) to fill them.
ABOUT ME
Sometimes I play an Indian, but I am a cowboy at heart. Although I was raised in Montana and considered a hillbilly by my peers at Brown University, I was unequivocally "the city boy" while working on the Lazy E-L Ranch. Though I am never forgiven for being an expat while living in Mumbai, to friends back home I am a PIO.
I have co-led a bicycle trip across the US from the Atlantic to the Pacific with Bike and Build, tested fluid dynamics in NASAâ
PHILOSOPHY
Spontaneity. This can mean in the moment or over the course of years. If chaos is the law of the universe than I think having rigid definitions of where one should be or what one should be doing is a trite practice. I also love going on adventures. This could mean searching for a cool bar in Manhattan that a friend told me about or trying to get to an unnamed island in the middle of Dadra and Nagar Haveli in India.
My favorite quote is "History will be kind to me for I intend to write it." -Winston Churchill
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to couchsurfing but I love the concept and I'm open to hosting, surfing, and meeting people the world over. I'm currently on the move and without a couch of my own, but when I have one it will be available.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed in Grand Island, NE and had the most unexpectedly fun night with my hosts. We ended up going on an impromptu pub crawl and picking up more people along the way. It embodied the core spirit of couchsurfing.
Interests
I've started to realize that I have too many interests and that many of them require an income that I have yet to achieve. Damn. For example, I did a Semester at Sea with SEA (sea.org) during college and now love sailing as well as the lore and history of navigation. After working on a ranch during the summer of 2008 and learning to ride and rope I have added "owning a cattle ranch" to my bucket list. I am an avid outdoorsman and love being outside in both summer and winter. I am from Montana, after all.

Music, Movies, and Books
The World According to Garp, Into The Wild, Irons in the Fire, The Alchemist, Prince of Tides, Illusions, Bel Canto, The Blind Assassin, LOTR, Harry Potter, Ender's Game.
It's A Wonderful Life is, hands down, my favorite movie.
My music taste runs the gamut, but some favorite artists include James Taylor, Zac Brown Band, Dave Matthews, Santana, Toto, Boston, Pearl Jam, John Mayer, The Who, Eric Church, Counting Crows, The Roots, Timbaland, The Game, Rihanna, Matchbox 20, good house music (courtesy my Greek roommate of two years), Indian fusion music (like Advaita), etc. I like hearing new music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While taking my then-girlfriend on a backpacking trip in rural India, we were attacked by a tiger in the middle of the night and had to flee our island campsite. You can read about it here: http://bit.ly/MtCZyH
