About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Give Billy Mitchell a run for his money

ABOUT ME

Nice. Time to talk about me. I was an expat until recently living in France and Belgium. I was gone for 5 years so I'm taking the time to get reacquainted with the States. Being outside cures what ails me. Tho I do enjoy the inside of a cozy bar when the opportunity presents itself. Um, guess that's about it.

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice, unless convinced otherwise

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just learned about CS through a friend I met in Alaska this summer. Having done my fair share of travelling, I think this is about the best idea since 'Full House'. Unfortunately, I don't have a couch to offer up at the moment, but you can all come over once I do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'll have to get back to you on this one.

Interests

Outdoorsy things: the sun, the rain, dirt. Stuff like that. (Wow, this is tough.) I like movies. Music is almost the 5th food group. Podcasts are great. I'm pretty interested in world peace. Coffee intrests me quite a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like any movie that has a minimum amount of self-respect. Jim Jarmusch has made some good ones. John Cusak was in the only movie I ever walked out on.

I like to listen to all kinds of music. Some CDs (no Ipod hook-up yet) currently in my car include Herbie Hancock, the Beatles, Andre 3000, Kris Kristofferson, Aretha Franklin among others.

I tend to read a lot of non-fiction. I'm currently reading 'River of Doubt' about T. Roosevelt, though I recently finished a book of short stories by Haruki Murakami which was purty good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw a children's dance performance in France choreographed to that Dick Dale song from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. Instead of cueing the song, they just popped in the CD and pressed play. About 6 kids in face paint stood frozen in anticipation on stage as we heard over the PA, 'Everybody be cool this is a robbery. Any of you ... ... move, I'll execute every ...' In a town square packed with about 300 people, nobody batted an eyelash.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I've learned from my travels is that 99% percent of the people out there are friendly and worth getting to know. Fortunatley, the other 1% is pretty easy to spot.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Croatia, Indonesia, Morocco

Countries I’ve Lived In
