Originally from Dallas, TX (ish) and now living in San Diego. I've been working as a critical care registered nurse for the past five years and am starting a graduate program in nurse anesthesia in the Fall of 2024. I'm married to my amazing Italian wife (from Rome) and spent about two and a half years living in Australia/New Zealand before meeting her and moving back to the States.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be commuting quite a lot from San Diego up to Riverside County as well as Northern California for clinical sessions related to my degree and will need a place to stay during those occassions. The distance makes commuting each day prohibative and the amount of days I'll need to stay overnight would make hotels/motels too costly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked as station-hand at an outback Australian sheep & cattle station for 4 months. I'm a city-kid by upbringing and have mostly had office and/or hospitality jobs since I finished high school so this kind of gig was a real slap in the face for both its intensity and physical difficulty.

For most of my time at Bonnie Downs station it was just myself, my boss, 10000 sheep, and about 800 cows. I had to learn to competently ride a motorbike, muster and pen sheep and cattle, tag lambs and calves, and just generally improvise to keep the place up and running. It was an exhausting and frustrating time which I would gladly do over again in a heartbeat. :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I've been told I'm a pretty interesting conversationalist so I think I'd at minimum be able to keep you entertained. Besides that I'm more than willing to help out with any general chores including cleaning, washing, yardwork, and the odd bit of maintenance.
