About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To follow the philosophy of Zaphod Beeblebrox and "Look for adventure and really wild things!".
ABOUT ME
Ahoy. I am a first-year Engineering student in Trinity College, Dublin. I live in student accommodation with several friends, none of whom I knew initially.
I like to think I'm well humored, with a solid selection of jokes in my repertoire, which I'm always happy to share, as I'm always looking for a chance to get a good laugh out of someone, but I'll let you be the judge of how funny I am! :)
PHILOSOPHY
The universe is just an intricate shadow of the Platonic universe, we are just the happy result. Does that make me a nihilist? Yes. But that life has no 'meaning' or cause is no reason not to be swell to one another, and strive to change the world for the better.
So yeah... Suck on that Nietzche...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As of yet, I've done very little for the community, I live in student accommodation, but am unable to host as I have nothing for sleeping on, but I hope to fix this problem soon!
Interests
I'm an avid rugby player, and a general sports fan. I'm also a rock climber, albeit one with little experience... I'm certainly willing to give everything a shot at least once! :)
I have a strong interest in movies, acting, and the dramatic arts in general.
I'm a drummer, sadly not a very good one, and a keen music listener!
I also read a reasonable amount, in no particular area, I enjoy everything from science fiction, to modern classic literature!
My primary interest though admittedly, is having a cool and froody time! I am, of course a true Irish man! ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to think I'm reasonably well grounded in my knowledge of all three of these topics, spending more than enough time reading about various topics in each...
Books: The Great Gatsby, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, A Clockwork Orange, American Psycho, Fight Club, The Big Book of Hell, Watchmen, Maus, God Delusion, The Artemis Fowl Series, Heart of Darkness, and Waltz With Bashir. As you can see I have no particular preference towards genre!
Movies: Too many to list! But a selection is: Oldboy, Apocalypse Now, Toy Story 1,2, and 3, The Evil Dead, Raging Bull, Mystic River, Akira, A Prophet, Pulp Fiction, The Life Of Brian, Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride (Inconceivable? I think not...:P). Despite my avid movie watching I promise I am not one to endlessy quote scenes from movies, though I am happy to act out scenes with someone if the situation arises!
Music: Again I try to have a reasonably eclectic taste in music, but I feel it's better to know a decent amount of bands well, then a lot of bands poorly... A brief overview would include: Radiohead, Rammstein, Rage Against The Machine, The Waterboys, U2, and The Arcade Fire...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
New Zealand's south island, the people, culture and the beautiful scenery are stand-out in my memory! Especially Milford Sound, a breathtaking valley on the edge of fjordland in the wild south!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk at length about films, in most areas- directors, actors, film making techniques, and much more!
I have a decent knowledge of how to act, how to drum, how to play rugby, and lots more! Sadly not the most easily taught subjects in a brief period of time, but a possibility for discussion!
I think I have a decent grasp on the majority of popular Western culture, and am willing to discuss all matters concerned under that umbrella.
I'm reasonably scientifically minded, with a solid grasp of most topics in the popular consciousness. Again, I would be happy to discuss anything I know of, whenever!
