About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeking adventures, good food, real conversations

ABOUT ME

I'm helpless to resist fresh fruit, good stories, and basking in sunshine.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life with eyes wide open.
Be kind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf when I'm wandering and I'm open to meeting up with or hosting fellow travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed and I've hosted. Great people all around!

Interests

If I have some free time, you might find me running, hiking/backpacking, riding my bike in the middle of the night, baking bread, reading, sewing, walking my dog, doing something or nothing with good friends. I'm a volunteer track and cross country coach with a local high school, and I look forward to it every day!

I'm interested in (and would be happy to talk about) educational reform, sustainability, your weird/wonderful/quirky family/best friend/boss/dog/houseplant, the way good writers use language, that article you read/video you saw/thing you heard that made your day or blew your mind. Mostly I just like meeting people and knowing a bit of their story and they way the walk through the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folky bluegrassy music, bluesy/jazzy/souful music, and all sorts of live music played outside.
Some favorite books: Lincoln in the Bardo, The Old Man and the Sea, The Brothers K, Gilead, The Things They Carried, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, The BFG, Calvin and Hobbes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming caves in Guatemala and Vietnam...floating in the total darkness was surreal and unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to bake bread or biscuits from scratch!
I can point you in the direction of the best local trails and swimming holes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have an old road bike with lock and helmet you can borrow.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, France, Guatemala, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Mexico, Spain, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
