About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to permeate the human-human barrier anywhere, anyone, anyhow

ABOUT ME

trying not to be too cool, but it's too late

PHILOSOPHY

Everything is a choice! Or, to put it in simple 'Tron' terms, I'd rather be a User than a Program.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Realizing that life isn't anything except people, that we're counterparts - not competitors - and trying to shed the last vestiges of my ingrained selfishness by remaining open to others and placing your interests tantamount to my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

~~I had a dream about it once~~Excuse me while I help myself change my pants from making myself pee myself for laughing too hard at myself.

But seriously! Here are all of my re-edits:

(Dec. '15): Woah?? I am in Auckland, New Zealand...with a full-time job...after traveling through Asia? I lost a few things - like my cell phone and an entire human being - but man life is pretty sweet. Suppose you do have to believe that "Same Same But Different" T-shirt that peppers the SE Asian tourist coastlines and chestlines. I remain amazed and infused (not necessarily confused!) by all I've seen, and significantly sloooowed down/chillllllllled out, energy-wise. Thinking about humanity now, and how I might work towards transcending my limited human interactions (hey! Which I still love and live for).

Re-edit! (Dec. '13): I recently got done with a Washington, DC to Tampa, FL bike trip with my amazing former PGH roommate, studied for an attained a post-collegiate medical licensure, and now I'm back in PGH...again! Feeling just as hyped about you and life as I explained here, back in the day:

(Sept. '11) I just got done with a three-month-long, as-the-wind-blows, self-directed-and-sustained cycling tour that included but was not limited to: Louisiana, Texas, California, BIKE STOLEN!, Nevada-Wyoming-Nebraska road trip, new (old) bike in Chicago, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia! During that time, so much happened that is still processing, but overall, my mind was literally. blown. open. by the kindness I encountered in people everywhere! All of my former hesitant, vague goals have sunk into the muck that is my pre-Couchsurfing life. There is nothing to do except give and get better, and I'm not sure how to do it yet, but I will, anyway. THIS MEANS YOU! <3

Interests

Head bobbing, gunslinging, gum snappin', parappin', fast driving, bike riding, leaf crunching, package opening (but only in quiet theatres), avocado slurping, time wasting, wine tasting, split end trimming, music blaring, subject changing, opinion forming, imagination using, logolepsy suffering, costume building, face making, self-entertaining, crowd pleasing, people punching (but only in quiet theatres), loogie hawking, nail biting, trashy clothes wearing, all-singing, all-dancing, always, anytime, twenty-fo' seven, and I DON'T CARE WHO'S IN MY WAY.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being a vessel for consciousness is pretty kool

Teach, Learn, Share

All I know how to do is sew, unprofessionally
oh, and
make you feel bad for smoking, professionally

I might as well add a bit about food, which I think about a lot! Between baking batches of vegan desserts and downing the occasional non-vegan reuben sandwich, I get obsessed with the idea of self-mandated health via good choices. I am not a pro. I highly recommend the book 'Never Get Sick Again' by Raymond Francis (or, if you don't buy books, visit his website!), because it proposes the most concise model of health - and possibly the universe - that I have come across.
