ABOUT ME

Alex: Such a hard thing to do, describing yourself in a couple of sentences..but here goes! I am currently studying human kinetics in university and I hope to go into physiotherapy. I enjoy being active, mostly because I can't really sit still for very long. Snowboarding, surfing and playing Ultimate frisbee are some of my favourite activities. But by far, my passion lies in travelling. For me, the most important thing that comes out of that is the relationships and connections you make with others. Above all, I think I am a PEOPLE person and..I can't wait to meet you!!

Jess: It started with a high school exchange to France when I was 16, my first time overseas. Little did I know, that trip was going to corrupt me for LIFE: I have officially caught the travelbug and am doomed to spend the rest of my life learning about all there is out in the big wide world so I can make a difference in it someday. I am currently a university student studying International Relations (hmm I wonder why..) and just finished an amazing year of studying in Paris. This summer of travelling will hopefully satisfy my globetrotting addiction temporarily so that I can go back to Canada and finish my degree! That's all for now, small biographical paragraphs are never a good way of getting to know someone, let's do it in person some time soon!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We spent this summer doing a couchsurfing Eurail tour and it has been more than incredible! This trip has thoroughly converted us to the amazing-ness that is CS and we expect many more adventures to come! Unfortunately, we don't have a place of our own yet to host people at so until that lucky day when we move out of the parental unit's place, we are going to concentrate on spreading the Couchsurfing spirit like wildfire!

We love:
meeting new & interesting people from around the world, laughing like loons, learning new languages, volunteering, spending too much time on Youtube, photography, singing in the shower, cooking dinner for friends, art, ultimate frisbee, tea, festivals, hiking and camping like any good West Coaster would, music, dance dance dancing the night away, reading, surfing, sushi, picnics, TRAVELLING (obviously!), EATING (that deserves capslock too)and.....sunshine!

Silence may be golden but music is just so much more fun! We are always listening to different genres so it would be a pleasure to share and exchange new music.

We are also extremely keen on learning

- new languages (starting off first with the quintessential swear words of course.. ;)
