About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to change the world one day at a time.

ABOUT ME

I love having deep conversations over coffee or a glass of wine. I try to make a difference in the world with everything I do. I constantly strive to grow and learn new things to make the world and myself a little bit better. I'd classify myself as a careful optimist who is easily inspired.

I have a great many hobbies including jiu jitsu, falconry, reading, gardening, and bike riding. Anything outdoors i've probably done it or want to do it. I hike as much as I can. My main passions are real estate, landscape design and learning. I love to learn everything I can. I'm interested in woodworking, DIY, food glorious food! I enjoy a good conversation with a variety of people and always welcome new ways of thinking about things and sharing my experiences with others. I think couchsurfing is a great way to meet new friends and see the world! I currently live in Eagle River, Alaska and couldn't be happier!

PHILOSOPHY

It is through education that we become engaged and it is through passion that we persuade others to learn.

You can learn something from everyone if you listen close enough, even if it's what not to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost every type of music, except for hardcore rock... it brings out road rage. ;)

I try to read as often as I can and am hopelessly addicted to DIY and home-improvement books. I read quite a bit of technical literature and am always learning.

Books: How to Win Friends and Influence People, It's Your Ship, It worked For Me, Everwhere, The Dirty Life, Ender's Game, Animal Farm, The Hunger Games

Movies: So many great ones but my favorites include... Avatar, Old Boy (this movie was NUTS but I commend the skill of putting the story together), The Man from Nowhere, Julia & Julia, The Host

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gotten to see many great animals up-close from my volunteer and paid positions. I was also fortunate enough to grow up on a small farm showing sheep, goats, and chickens. I also got the opportunity to learn a little about home improvement and gardening and I hope to one day use those skills in my own home and to help others.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit about a lot of things and would be happy to teach or show you the skills that I have learned throughout the years. I try to be unbiased and let my passion shine through about what I love (and don't love so much). I am always open to learning something new!
