About Me
What's up?
My name is Thea. I'm currently 22 and am about to go on my first solo backpack trip.
Travel has always been a constant in my life.
I remember being 14/15 and seeing videos of backpackers who traveled month at a time, hoping from country to country.
I always dreamed to so myself one day, but I never thought it possible, never actually believed I'd be braver enough.
With 15 I was lucky enough to take part in an exchange program with the USA and lived a year in Oregon. I enjoyed every minute and loved learning about the slightly different culture.
I knew I was a lost cause.
As soon as I arrived back home in Germany, I couldn't wait to get back out there again. The following years I was able to enjoy many smaller trips throughout Europe but kept constantly in mind to plan something bigger for when I finally graduated.
In school I came across a scholarship (weltwärts) which helps to finance voluntary work all over the world.
April 2017 was finally my flight to my so far biggest adventure.
One year India.
A new and completely different culture.
Everything was colorful, spicy and most definitely breathtaking.
I gave my best to teach my kids at school.
I know I didn't necessarily change a lot but for my kids I did make a difference.
Well anyway.
I saw what was possible and loved every minute in this beautiful country.
So for the last year I worked my butt off in two bars( Irish pub)
And can't wait to feel the freedom of travel again.
Planning to make the world my home and am truly excited to meet some of you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Always happy to make new friends and be able to enjoy a new city with the people who really know it.
I'm about to go on my first backpacking trip alone, so I'll be looking for friends on the road.
I try to offer a bed to people as often as I can and I know you can be at home anywhere in the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived a year in India
Teach, Learn, Share
What I have learned, in my few years is that what is most important to me is to be present in the moment and simply appreciate what I have.
"Tiefe Zufriedenheit"( deep satisfaction)
You can always strive for more and aim big, but don't forget to enjoy the ride.
I live for those moments, where you just sit in the nature, breath and are simply happy.
It's not always easy but whenever I catch myself getting hung up on ridiculous things, I try to find that mindfulness again
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of laughs and happiness,Stories, Satisfying cooking skills, Even better baking skills. Always good for a fun party night out or a relaxed and quite night in.
I also have decent mehendi skills and usually always have some with me.
Always happy to spend time together but also don't mind if there isn't any time for hanging out.
