About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have an adventure

ABOUT ME

I am a fresh college graduate with almost no sense of direction but a knowledge that I should see more of the world. I'm 22, American, and have been known to be quite funny. I am incredibly clumsy and not a day passes where I don't run into a door frame or a table edge.
I have the worst vision of anybody but the blind. My contacts are -9.00, which is ridiculous. I've had glasses since before I learned to read.
I danced for 12 years. I'm not very good but I was always famous for being fun to watch. I imitated John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever" when I was about 10. The crowd went wild.
I spent a semester abroad in London and loved it completely. I got to travel extensively and discover myself anew. Given the chance I won't shut up about my travels in Europe. Now it's time for more adventure stories.

PHILOSOPHY

How do I live my life? Attempting to push myself. As part of my very liberal liberal arts education I've been taught to deconstruct myself and my place in the world. This generally leads to self-analysis of privilege. I believe it all, though, and I have no answers. I'm still kind of a snob, though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to bring some humor to my couchsurfing hosts. When I get back from abroad and settle down somewhere in the United States I'll have an open couch. We can have a dance party.

Interests

I love knitting, reading, watching movies, having spontaneous dance parties, British history (well, history in general), esoteric and meaningless discussions about social problems, and laughing. That last one sounds stupid but it's true.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ah, music. I love music. I won't say I like every type, because I don't. I love indie musicians like Bat for Lashes, the Decemberists, Yeasayer, My Brightest Diamond, and other random artists. I love Bjork, Damien Rice, Tori Amos, and Celtic music. I can't stand country music.
I love movies. I love foreign, comedy, action, drama, epics, animated, etc. I don't do well with horror because I have an overactive imagination that causes nightmares.
Reading is my number one hobby. I'm always on the search for a good book. My favorite book is the Red Tent, by Anita Diamant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think it's amazing that I'm going to New Zealand by myself for nine months with no plan, little money, and just a backpack. That's crazytrousers.
