About Me

Hello world travelers!

I'm Abdul, your friendly neighborhood adventurer from the heart of Egypt, now making waves in Munich, Germany. After conquering my master’s degree (and convincing myself that I'm too young to settle down just yet), I’ve decided to explore every nook and cranny of Europe. Call me a professional couch tester!

Hosting in Munich? Absolutely! My couch is not just a couch—it's a launchpad for your city adventures, and it's as comfy as they come. I'm always down for brewing a strong cup of coffee or steeping a soul-soothing tea while swapping tales from different corners of the globe. Need a cozy corner in Munich? Just ping me!

As for my own travels, I’m on a quest for couches with character—whether it overlooks the Alps or just an artsy ceiling. And yes, I travel with a sprinkle of Egyptian magic and a stash of homemade falafels—ready to share!

Language-wise, we’re good to go in English, German, Arabic, or Russian. Worst case, we’ll share a laugh or two as we butcher each other’s languages.

Can’t wait to make some legendary memories together! You can find me on BeWelcome and Couchsurfing with the same username: @theabdelkader. If I'm not here, slide into my DMs on Instagram: @theabdelkader.

Catch you on the flip side,
Abdul

German Version:
Hallo Weltreisende!

Gastgeber in München? Schreib mir einfach!

Abdul

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I believe travel should be more than just ticking destinations off a list; it's about making genuine connections and experiencing the world through the eyes of locals. For me, Couchsurfing is not just a platform for finding a place to sleep, but a vibrant community where I can share stories, learn from others, and create meaningful relationships.

Having moved to Germany from Egypt, I've realized how enriching it is to immerse myself in new cultures and languages. Couchsurfing allows me to continue this journey of cultural exchange, offering a slice of Egyptian warmth and hospitality wherever I go. Whether I’m brewing a cup of tea for a guest in Munich or sharing a homemade falafel on a couch in Paris, every interaction is a chance to learn and grow.

I'm here to embrace the spontaneity of travel, discover hidden gems through local insights, and show others the Munich I've come to love. Each guest and host adds a new layer to my understanding of the world, and with every connection, I find myself more fascinated by the diversity and beauty of our global community.

So, whether you’re looking for a cozy corner to rest in Munich or just want to share a story or two, reach out. Let’s make travel memorable by building bridges, not just passing through.

Interests

Where do I start? Well, my interests are as mixed as a Cairo bazaar. I’m big on anything that gets my adrenaline pumping—skydiving, bungee jumping, or trying to order food in a new language without accidentally buying a goat instead.

I'm a self-proclaimed history buff. Whether it's exploring ancient ruins or figuring out why they stopped building pyramids, I'm there. I also have a soft spot for street art; if there’s a colorful mural around, I’m probably taking a selfie with it.

Cooking is another passion. I love experimenting with recipes from every corner of the world. The results? Edible about half the time. But when they're not, I’m a pro at making emergency pizza calls.

And then there’s dancing—though calling what I do 'dancing' might be a stretch. Let's just say I'm enthusiastic and leave it at that.

Lastly, I'm always game for a good board game night. Whether it's strategy or something that involves a lot of yelling and wild gestures, count me in!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? I'm all about those beats that make even the pyramids want to shake their sandy hips. Movies? If it has an adventure, count me in—especially if it teaches me how to dodge booby traps or charm a snake. Books? I've been known to read anything that doesn’t start with “Assembled Furniture Instructions.”

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once convinced a street vendor in Cairo that I was a time traveler, mainly to get a discount on a falafel sandwich. Did it work? Yes. Was it ethical? Questionable. Was the falafel delicious? Timelessly so.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? I can show you how to say “Where's the bathroom?” in four languages—crucial survival stuff. Learn? I’m hoping to learn how to cook without setting off the smoke alarm. Share? Stories, snacks, and questionable dance moves at 2 AM.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Apart from eternal gratitude and an official certification in couch testing (self-issued), I come equipped with top-notch Egyptian falafel recipes, a playlist of travel-inspiring tunes, and an endless supply of anecdotes that range from “inspiring” to “did that really happen?”
