Overview
About Me
I grew up in rural Virginia with a close family (3 brothers) and spent a lot of time in the woods, exploring and making hideaways, stories and short movies.. reading a lot and spending time by myself.
For the last few years I've been on the road a lot... work trading, farming around the country, and spending time in Portland, Maine, which has become the home base.
I've been an aspiring farmer and have done varying levels of animal husbandry and vegetable gardening. And though I enjoy it, I've found my interest shifting more towards wildcrafting, medicine making and primitive skills. And with that, remembering the importance of honoring where those practices originated from, and taking care to learn them respectfully.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always liked alternative ways of travel that enable me to experience a place and its community more fully.
Interests
rolling around in the dirt, and spending time playing in nature, bicycling, traveling, listening to what folks have to say, and finding ways to support folks that need it, reading books that teach me things, reading books that help my imagination, learning new skills (I recently tanned my first hide!), dancing to cheesy music, doing crafts and enjoying the small moments of sweetness in life.
and very slowly learning how to play the accordion..
