About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Touring the US in search of adventure
ABOUT ME
Young Scottish boy trying to make up for too many years spent sitting at home watching movies. Learned about CS on a trip across the US.
PHILOSOPHY
It's all about the stories you can tell - I always want to do something I can tell people about later.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Looking to share in and learn about people's lives and communities. Have a love of the strange little eccentricities that make us who we are.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met a lot of CS'ers while backpacking across the US.
Interests
Love arts, galleries, music and live events, theatre - also trashy events like Roller Derby and Pro Wrestling. Not into sports back home, but think America has a slightly better attitude to it. My favourite evenings are the ones spent getting to know people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Don't read nearly as much as I should - I blame the Internet for sucking up too much of my free time!
Will watch any movie once - love almost everything, and never opposed to watching something even if I know its terrible!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in the same city, surrounded by the same people, doing the same old thing, for 29 years.
Then I sold all my possessions and flew to the US.
I made it through alive, surviving bears, rattlesnakes, gang members, crazy people, rivers, canyons, Chicago weather, Philly beer, and love - but only just.
Teach, Learn, Share
The beauty of the human condition lies in understanding what makes us unique. Robert Sapolsky said in his TED talk that the only trait human beings show that isn't seen in the animal kingdom is faith. The ability to believe and fantasize.
"Fun" is the feeling we have when we do things right.
I believe this occurs most often in what we call "gameplay" situations, which occur when we set goals for ourselves that coincide with, but lie in opposition of, the rules. That's why we'll always love a rebel, why we're never happy to tow the line, and why conflict is an inevitable part of human life. It's the drive behind everything we do!
