ABOUT ME

We're married. We work. We travel. We live. Passionate about plant life, geography, nature and our place within it, we're farm hippies at heart, living in the city until we know it's time to leave. We're very laid back, love exploring and appreciate the authenticity that CS brings to a traveling experience! Despite it being a city, we really do like Vancouver and would be happy to take you around. Pretty adventurous, we're up for anything involving adrenaline and in BC that's certainly not hard to find!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've been members since Dec 07, and since then have been hosts to a number of people from Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Poland, and the UK.
We've now been guests six times, in Vienna, Venice, Seattle, Berlin, Nuremberg and Strasbourg- all fantastic experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ingenious! I wish it was mandatory - how much more interesting exploring new places and learning about the various people who make up our world would be!

As two different people, we have different interests. But together we really enjoy traveling, exploring, biking, hiking, camping, running, getting lost, the forest, the ocean, culture, music, singing and playing guitar (making music in general), bee keeping (Alaina), gardening, yoga (Alaina teaches), hockey (Ashton), watching movies, trying to cook new things, and anything else that brings us closer to the fullness of life :)

Spent the night nestled between the Sahara Desert sand dunes in a Berber tent in Morocco!

Well, Ashton is a forestry dude so anything about trees, wildlife and ecosystems is generally his domaine. Alaina's making progress there too; constantly inspired by the forest, sky and the ocean. An environmental educator in schools and a yoga instructor, she can teach about all about gardening, bee keeping, permaculture, yoga philosophy, bliss... Just ask! :)
