About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing lots more speaking! I recently did my first TEDx and speak often at all kinds of events.

ABOUT ME

I was born in London, raised in Chicago and Pittsburgh and have always loved travel. I have adventured in 70 countries so far and I am a very long way from done! The best travel has been with my son and since he arrived 16 years ago we have had some incredible adventures.

I have been 'self-employed'/my own boss for most of my life and enjoy the freedom to be creative and take each day as it comes. Not surprisingly I also prioritise creative and intellectual freedom for my son and he is unschooled.

Our life is as full of fun, frivolity and spontaneity as we can make it and we love all kinds of exploring and meeting new people. Truthfully we find everything interesting and truly believe that anything is possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Anything is possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favourites books, possibly of all time, are The Help and The Guernsey LIterary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Oh and anything at all by Fannie Flagg!!

As for movies we love pretty much everything and just enjoy the whole movie going experience. LOVE popcorn!!

As for music we are always making up our own tunes - but Van Morrison also has a very special place in my heart :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave birth at home to my beautiful miracle baby.

Teach, Learn, Share

I find everyone interesting - you have to do very little digging to find an incredible story sitting right below the surface. People are wonderful and one of my favourite ways to think about us all is from a book called Welcome to the world baby girl, by Fannie Flagg. She has created one of my all time favourite characters - her name is Aunt Elner and one day she is asked if she likes people. This is her reply “…[P]oor little old human beings–they’re jerked into this world without having any idea where they came from or what it is they are supposed to do, or how long they have to do it in. Or where they are gonna wind up after that. But bless their hearts, most of them wake up every morning and keep on trying to make sense out of it. Why, you can’t help but love them, can you? I just wonder why more of them aren’t as crazy as betsy bugs” And I wholeheartedly agree - you just can't help but love em :)
