CURRENT MISSION
Peace, love and frisbee
ABOUT ME
I love to travel and I love the outdoors. I have a dog and am fond of all animals. I love to eat and try new foods. I go on camping/hiking/canoeing trips whenever I can. I love being active(playing baseball, frisbee, biking, general merry-making)but sleeping is also a passion of mine. Nothing like a nap in the middle of a good day to make it a great one. I don't drink like I used to, I don't have the stomach for it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I still love beer and wine, just not in huge amounts anymore.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is that we are all lucky to some degree to have been spawned on this wonderful planet and that we should respect and appreciate it and try to explore/learn as much as we can about it. Also that since we are all here together, we may as well try to make life as enjoyable or as easy as possible for those around us. Lastly, a frisbee is a magical thing. Watching the flight of a frisbee is one of the most organic, soothing things for me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Opening my home to travelers and staying with friends I haven't met
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Meeting some wonderful folks overseas who opened their homes to me and getting to know them and being lucky enough to have them show me around their home towns
Interests
Interested in most things that exist. Or don't. I love to travel and I love to learn. Meeting new and exciting people to share stories with and get to know. I love playing sports and being active. I played soccer(football, lo siento) year-round through high school and still love to play. I also love baseball and frisbee. If I could be anything it would be a professional Ultimate Frisbee player.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like basically all music from Slayer to Yonder Mountain to Billy Joel to Weird Al to Infected Mushrooms. Haven't seen too many movies recently but personal faves include Milo and Otis, Lord of the Rings, Office Space, Tarantino Movies, Magnolia and Shawshank Redemption. Some favorite books are LOTR, Memnoch the Devil, most baseball books, The Long Goodbye, Rune and The Four Agreements.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked up to Blue Glacier with my cousins last year in the Olympic Mountains near Seattle, Washington. After hiking for a few hours we reached the glacier and had our breath stolen from us. Standing right next to the huge, unmoving block of ice we were struck by such a strong sense of how powerful the earth really is. The most amazing thing to me was the sound of rushing water coming from the glacier, when we could see no movement at all on the surface. What an amazing feeling to be so close to something so powerful and delicate at the same time.
Teach, Learn, Share
One thing I've come to believe is that we truly don't know nearly as much as we think we do(as individuals or as separate races or religions) and that once we accept how little we actually know, then we can start to take things in and learn about ourselves and each other. Its the assumptions we make about things we think we know that keep us from truly learning.
