About Me

Raised in Wisconsin and moved to the Twin Cities after college to pay the bills as a healthcare IT analyst.
I mostly work short-term contracts and am often able to use the space between jobs to travel and fix up my house.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To offer the space I live in to others in need and to experience new places in a direct, meaningful way by living with the people who live there.

Interests

I tend to be reading. I also enjoy making music, both by myself and with anyone and any instrument that happens to be nearby. I think creating music with other people is one of the easiest ways I know to lose the nagging sense of self and to simply have fun. I also have a collection of cameras and am known to take photos. Cycling, yoga, weights, soccer, frisbee and hiking help me stay fit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm lucky enough to have an uncle who decided to drop out of college in the 70s and move to Hawaii. He has never left. I've visited him a handful of times and once, when I was about 14, I went snorkeling with him and had the pleasure of floating by as giant sea turtles came to lift their heads out of the water to suck in breathes of air - an incredibly novel experience for me, one that I couldn't have had at home in Wisconsin. It brought me this realization that there was much to see and I should get out and see it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Dominican Republic, England, France, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand
