About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my horizons and break free from my sheltered existence.

ABOUT ME

I graduated from college and never cared about learning while there, however since I’ve gotten out, I cannot stop myself from reading, and want to learn and know everything. I figure when I retire I will spend my days pondering over books, learning bizarre theories and ancient languages as I contemplate the mysteries of the universe and my role in it, always searching for an answer but never being content with any I find. Much like I do now. When I am not reading, or hanging out with friends, or working, I spend most of my time writing, or developing ideas for stories and screenplays and plays, and poems, most of which I never write, or if I do, I never truly finish them. I’ve got probably some 20 odd projects in the work as I type this. I am an idealist at heart. I am very much a communist, in theory, although I know human ambition and desire will forever get in the way allowing socialism to rule, and so therefore I am more of a democrat or libertarian, although I try to avoid politics as much as possible as I feel everyone in the political system is basically corrupt, and no good will ever come until the career politicians are ousted. For these reasons I tend to avoid discussing politics. Hot cocoa tends to make me sick, as do apples and onions – unless they are cooked. I love vacationing at the beach but I would prefer to live in the mountains. I do not care much for sports, and I believe the world of celebrity is quite ridiculous and the people who should be getting paid lots of money are teachers and doctors - people that actually do good for others (therefore this does not include all the quacks out there). I think the educational system is decent up to a point, however that now it's trying to remove any sort of childhood from kids in order to better prepare them against the educational slide that is occuring. I believe that standardized testing is a complete waste of time and resources for which to judge people. There are book smarts and then common sense. I have a decent mix of both. But catch me at the wrong time and I have neither. I used to be able to put my legs behind my head. Then I got stuck, and instead of helping me, my family laughed. I never did it again. I have weeks where I want to do nothing but cook. However they are few and far between. Most of the time I will do whatever causes me the least work, which usually just involves eating trail mix, or a can of beans – rinsed of course, to avoid the gases that would otherwise ensue. I am quickly excited by things but almost just as quickly forget about them, due to my excitement for something else that is new. Shiny things distract me. I love design, but have a hard time figuring it out for myself. I tend to be quite scattered, and my styles change a lot. I used to wear what I have dubbed hobo-chic. People literally thought I was homeless. Then I was submitted for What Not to Wear and although I didn’t get in, I realized my style was a little bit of a problem. Since then I feel I’ve become a little bit more put together. I stay up late doing things like writing self-summaries, and then when I wake up only a couple of hours after falling asleep I wonder why I’m tired and irritable.

PHILOSOPHY

The golden rule.

Live like it's your last day because it may well be.

Get through the fear, especially of financial security: it's fleeting and ultimately doesn't exist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Only recently joined, so as of now, I haven't. But excited to start!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While not through CS, the last month I was living in NY I was moving almost every other night all over the city.

Interests

Just about everything. Current interests include graphic novels as an art form and form of literature, acting, writing, quantum physics, metaphysics, spirituality.

Basically if you have some new idea or something you're passionate about I'd love to hear about it. Nothing is more interesting than listening to a passionate person talk about what they love.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what I know. Often I think it's better to admit you know nothing so that you are not imprisoned by your "knowledge" which often tends to be false, or only circumstantial. I have however spent a lot of time studying story, acting, Buddhism, and have begun looking in depth to quantum physics.

Interested in learning more about those things above, psychic abilities, and anything else that people care about.
