Overview
About Me
I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, but have made a point of leaving the country to travel annually for several years now, with trips to Europe, around Canada, and Africa.
I have loads of random interests and chances are we'll get along if you're a good conversationalist. I love to debate about politics, or anything really.
Travel is important to me, and I value a style of travelling that allows you to meet locals, and do as locals do, see what they see etc. I have a BA in Human Geography and just finished my Masters of Urban Planning at McGill in Montreal - with a focus on urban music festivals. Have been working as a bike messenger for the past few months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Up to now mainly surfing. I'm a leach on this community. However, I've finally grown up and moved out of the parent's house so I may be able to give you a place to rest your head, or at least show you around Montreal.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Some couches surfed around Europe and many great people met! Most recently couchsurfing a bit closer to home in NYC, Saskatoon and Quebec City. (Not including couchsurfing on friends' couches all round the world).
Interests
Climbing, hiking, most anything outdoorsy. I've raced a few triathlons over the last few years and have developed something of an obsession with cycling. I just built a fixie from the frame up and worked as a bike messenger in Mtl over the past winter. I really love music, and discovering new types. Food, namely good, interesting food, and beer/ wine is essential to happiness. I'm a night owl and enjoy time out at a bar etc., however, quiet nights at home watching documentaries are often appreciated. Traveling- I've been overseas every year for the past 4. Recently I've gotten into playing ice hockey. I didn't like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but loved House of Cards, Please Like Me, and Parks and Rec.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Held a party for 8 in a shed the size of a king sized bed in the dead of a Canadian winter. With fondue. And shovels. One of which fell on my head.
Hanglided over the Swiss Alps
(Foolishly)hiked over an avalanche.
Started a fire with wet wood.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a secret pasta sauce recipe that has been passed down from couchsurfer to couchsurfer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A lumpy futon in our living room / kitchen, a clean sheet, a pillow and blanket. A great neighbourhood (steps away from Station Mont Royal). A good time depending on where I'm at in the school year - a beer at least, probably more. LGBTQ-friendly.
