About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Six months work, six months travel
ABOUT ME
For better or worse, I've lived here in lil d-town pretty much my whole life. It's pretty casual here. A college town, the crowd is pretty diverse and its loaded with musicians, so its not difficult to find a good band around here, especially jazz.
The past twelve years have found me working interiors around Dallas/Fort Worth, helping bring color into people's homes by painting murals, decorative art, and faux finishes.
I suppose my past mission was to be the catalyst for the public art program here in Denton. There really hasn't been much in the way of art around town except in galleries, so I made it a point to pursue opportunities that allowed art to be seen by people on a daily basis.
Things are starting to look up in that regard so I think it's about time to pick a new mission...maybe travel to all the places people keep having me paint pictures of and soak me up some culture while I'm at it...That sounds like a good one.
PHILOSOPHY
To pursue the greater masterpiece.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just found the site before my trip, so I haven't had the opportunity to host anyone yet. I have, however, been lucky enough to find a few great people to hang out with along my journey through CS.
I look forward to being a host when I get back to the states.
I think Ill pick up more hitchhikers from now on too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent six months rambling across Europe and surfed somewhere around twenty couches...though not all of them were part of the CS site.
I'm glad to have found the group and intend to continue in the spirit of sharing.
Interests
Ive been spending alot of time here lately playing golf (though my handicap is around 200), disc golf, and off-road biking (though I've taken a nasty tumble that I still haven't recovered from).
Born into being a Dallas Cowboy fan, I played football in high school and am still a big fan of sports, but not necessarily following them.
Snowskiing, boarding, rock climbing, rapelling, camping, hiking, canoeing, tennis, raquetball, baseball, ping-pong, you name it...if its outdoors or competitive, I'm all over it.
Wishing I got into playing music a long time ago, I've been playing harmonica and percussion with a country/blues band here and there at some of the local pubs.
Some buddies took me out to the range here a while back and I've found firearms to be a great big bunch of fun. Could be that's the Texan in me shining through.

A bit of a movie hound, I dig both the explosive, ridiculously monster-budget hollywood romps as well as the beautiful character-driven independant yawns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bum-trekked Sentieri Degli Dei off the Amalfi coast.
Hiked my bum off; 26 km across the island of Novalja in Croatia.
Slept next to bums on the street in Verona.
Hitch-hiked like a bum from Aix-en-Provence to Lyon.
Scrambled to save my bum from the bulls in Pamplona.
Awoke under a bench like a bum in Peniche,Portugal after a bender.
Not necessarily all that amazing...I know...what a bummer.
