About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Two wandering gals on a tour of adventure meeting like-minded folks of all kinds to connect with, laugh, and share stories...
ABOUT ME
In September 2012, we left our home in Tampa, Florida to embark on a total adventure. With a shift in our ambitions we sold and gave away our possessions, scaled down to one vehicle and packed it with the essentials. Our travel timeline began with beach camping in N. Florida, followed by working on a dairy goat farm, then taking a break in New Orleans before heading to Texas to work on a homestead property. We decided to temporarily nestle in Austin for the winter months and discover a nook of counter-culture life. From there, we began slow-traveling to places that interested and suited us, working on different projects to earn survival money! Since then, we have spent time in New York, the Caribbean, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Canada. We have no plans to stop anytime soon...the wanderlust is in us now!
PHILOSOPHY
At the end of their life, nobody ever says 'I wish I'd had fewer adventures'....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Over the years, we've met some great folks who surfed the couches of our friends....a good many of our own friends are seasoned couchsurfers!
Interests
They're diverse and many, they change and evolve so much it's hard to put them in a list- but we'll do our best: yoga, meditation, gardening, self-sufficiency, sustainability, conservation, travel, furthering a sharing economy, painting, drawing, reading, making music, listening to music, collaborative art, crafts, DIY anything, making friends, vegetarian cooking, hugs, napping in parks, coffee, tea, film, theatre, frolicking, havin' a good time!
...for starters.
Lately, Crick has been channelling her creativity into creating adult coloring books and other coloring-it-yourself products based on her travels. Deb has been honing and sharing her musical skills with the world...

Music, Movies, and Books
Crick- creepy, science-y nonfiction books, well-drawn graphic novels, music tastes vary like the weather, scifi/horror movies full of creepy-crawlies, creatures, and ghosties.
Deb-jThe Aleph by Paulo Coelho, The Awakening of Intelligence by J. Krishnamurti. Wide range of music & film appreciation. Writing my own songs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For the done part: us leaving our comfy lives for the unknown on this journey. For the seen part: we spent some time teaching English to refugees and their willingness to learn and adapt was been amazing to see.
Runner-up: a beachfront seagull snatching a slice of pizza from Crick as was about to bite into it. Such precision! Such grace!
What I Can Share with Hosts
We cook! Vegetarian only, but it's good stuff! Crick's concoctions are successful 48% of the time, but Deb's generally spot on!
