ABOUT ME

PLEASE NOTE Our house is quite isolated and public transport is most basic,so your own transport would facilitate your stay with us...I live in rural southern Portugal with my wife.We have been together for 33 years.I don´t care much for the values of this global society in which we live,but play the game as a means to an end.Was a very sincere hippy for many years until i realised that love and peace was a bit of a one sided affair. I value honesty and integrity and don´t have a great deal of affection for takers or users.My upbringing was very tough in every way and i put a lot of effort into smoothing the rough edges of my life. Kindness is a great virtue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have some beds available in a very basic house(our home).We don´t mind making an effort to assist others.
We have come to realise that it is impractical for us to host on weekdays,so we will ONLY host on FRIDAY and SATURDAY nights....PLEASE bring your own sleeping bag+towel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None within the CS organization but have given and recieved plenty over the years.

Interests

Playing acoustic music,scuba diving,snorkelling,Riding and maintaining my Royal Enfield motorcycle,underwater photography,my dogs (6 dogs).Talking about the things of life that really matter,i love jokes,telling and hearing(clean ones),Horticulture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films:-Guy Ritchie stuff is fabulous historical documentation.
I like films with some depth and intelligence.Not so fond of the average hollywood stuff.
Music:-Thomas Tallis and his scholars,blues,folk,rythm and blues,my own compositions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled overland to and from India and lived there for a year,Spent a few months in Afghanistan in the mid seventies.Went to the highest point on Gibraltar and saw the Atlantic to the west ,the Med to the east,Europe to the north and Africa to the south.
Became a stronger more whole person as a consequence of loosing both of my children in a fatal car accident.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had a very rich and varied life and people are welcome to share anything that i know.Practically,i run my own horticultural business growing garden plants and herbs,i am willing to share my knowledge in that field also.
