About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making the most of life and taking every oppertunity which comes my way

ABOUT ME

Where to start...? Well, I'm 27. I love to travel and experience new cultures and meet new people. I'm a trained chef and I'm a co-founder of a tech startup called Foodity (http://foodity.com) which makes great services and technologies for the food and drink industry.

I've been living in London for the last couple of years, but I'm currently taking advantage of my parents generosity and temporarily staying with them in their new house in Normandy, France. I haven't learnt any French yet but I hope to do so by meeting some local couchsurfers!

Before starting Foodity I've been up to all sorts of cool stuff. I spent 5 months living in Switzerland working as the Head Chef of a little hotel and then I spent the summer cycling around northern Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

Always take every chance that comes your way. It's better to try something than not to have the guts to do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed with lots of people and as soon as I get my own place in London i'll pay back the favours and give people a place to stay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent three months cycling through northern Europe over the summer of 2009 and couchsurfed about 45 nights in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. And I loved every minute of it.

Interests

I love cooking and food - that's why I became a chef.
Snowboarding and winter sports.
Cycling and jogging.
Football, or should I say 'soccer'?

Books: A heartbreaking work of staggering genius by David Eggers. Sophies world and The Solitare Mystery by Jostein Gaarder. Enduring Love, Atonement and Saturday by Ian McEwan. Recently I've been enjoying novels set in historic periods, like those by C.J. Sansom. And I love reading biographies by inspirational people.
Movies: Shawshank Redemption. Romeo and Juliet. Blood Diamond. Last Kind of Scotland. The Mighty Ducks!
Music: Everything from Indie and guitar bands to Hip Hop and Reggae to Dance and Classical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cylcling around Northern Europe for 3 months was the most amazing thing I've ever done. I met so many amazing people and saw so much cool stuff.

Spending a winter season in Saas Fee, Switzerland was great fun, I learnt to snowboard and now can't get enough of the powder days!

Skydiving in Australia and New Zealand was incredible. I loved scuba diving in Fiji and Thailand. Spending two weeks in the middle of Southern Sudan doing a charity building project was a completely life changing - the locals had been through so much turmoil and hurt that it felt great to be helping.
