About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To combine my passions for globetrotting, economizing and making new friends!
ABOUT ME
According to my fan club, I'm one of the most resourceful & imaginative people you'll ever meet. I can fix your broken appliances, sew you a new outfit, and turn the contents of ANY fridge into an edible meal. I'm unshockable, I'm loyal, and the exotic clubbing persona documented in many of my photos is really just a fraction of my identity. I'm actually a low-maintenance person in real life, and most of my time (especially as a traveler) is spent in flat shoes, bedhead and no makeup at all.
PHILOSOPHY
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think the Couchsurfing network is a great idea, and regardless of their interests or orientation, I will always prioritize guests who appear to give something back to the group and uphold its original principles. That being said, I especially enjoy hosting LGBTQ travelers, because we tend to have more in common and I can offer helpful suggestions for local events and activities, or play tour guide, when time permits. Fellow "foodies" are also very welcome here, and as a talented chef, I've even been known to cook for my guests upon occasion (although the kitchen facilities are currently quite primitive).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosting in Chicago, surfing in London, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and soon (hopefully), NYC.
Interests
Music, bargain-hunting and travel are my greatest passions. I also enjoy gourmet cooking, making cool costumes from thrift store finds, and drinking or dining with friends. I make awesome retro mixtapes (if you like 70's and 80's dance music) and spend a lot of time tinkering with computers, which has now become a full-time job. My social and professional life mainly revolves around the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities, so I tend to be most interested in and familiar with LGBTQ neighborhoods and venues.
