After years living in Europe, I am now on a sabbatical year, orbiting between Indonesia, Germany, airports and next cities that offers great street food while avoiding end up in the ER for food poisoning 😂. Hosting is ONLY possible when i am in Jogja, Indonesia. (Check my “Home” section — and anything written regarding the lodging situation is referred to my place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. NOT Berlin.)

Yes, this platform has changed but No, i am not here to collect followers, matches, tinder spin off, sales pitches, or people treating other people like a placeholder. I’m here for real people. The ones that mean what they say. The weird, thoughtful, curious, genuine and ideally do not show up with terrible body odour 😬.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Once upon a time, CS was full of misfits and magic. People didn’t just travel, they foster meaningful connections.
Now? Feels like 80% are here for something else entirely. Some are selling things (or even subtly themselves). Other seems to be collecting passport stamps and social clout instead of something profound.
But the remaining 20%? The genuine, kind, unfiltered, and unflinching real? You’re the reason I am still paying this subscription 😂
