About Me

Hey! Nice to e-meet you. I'm Gina (my full name is Georgina Mae but that's a mouthful) and I'm a Law graduate turned Marketing manager turned travel blogger. My husband, Nathan (we come as a pair but don't worry we're not that smushy "no you hang up" couple that you absolutely don't want sleeping on your couch), spent 9 years working for the Royal Air Force as a Mechanical Engineer.

After years of contemplating if we could just "leave our jobs and travel the world" over wine and late night pizza, we finally decided to JFDI. Just f**king do it. Well first we decided to do it and then we saved. A LOT. Nathan left the RAF and trained as a Personal Trainer; he occasionally kicks my butt into shape after I've eaten too many family size bags of crisps (potato chips for our American friends). He's also a full time travel blogger now too, which is pretty handy 'cause it would be totally awkward if only one of us was off gallivanting around the world whilst the other stayed at home to water the plants.

We love to spend our days exploring and eating good food. We try to eat plant based as much as possible and are happy to offer advice, tips + tricks (if wanted) or teach you a recipe or two. Our best nights are spent watching sunsets, star gazing, celebrating life with wine and good conversation (we love a red), or partying till the sun comes up with a shot of something strong.

We're pretty new to Couchsurfing and we're excited to meet new people, experience new cultures and countries.

Life motto:
The best way to predict your future... is to create it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

1. To meet new people. We've geniunely met some of our best friends on adventures around the world!
2. To live like the locals do. Backstreet bars, local family run restaurants and hidden gems are our 100% our thing.
3. To skill share. We love to cook, super into fitness, we love new languages (attempting to learn Spanish at the moment) and we're both qualified to teach English as a foreign language outside of the UK. We've built a blog and a bit of a social following, love photography (but want to learn more)
4. To swap stories - we'll share ours, if you share yours!

Music, Movies, and Books

Gina
Music: Anything I can dance or sing along to.
Movies: I've seen 1000s! I'm an absolute Disney nut job, love a film with a twist and any/all action movies. Marvel superheros are always relevant whatever the mood.
Books: Harry Potter (this was my entire childhood). Cried my eyes out to the "Me Before You" trilogy, i'm a sucker for a love story. I also enjoy any "who dunnit" books - the ones that you sit reading until 2am even though you have work the next day.

Nathan
Music: Enjoy most music, depends on the vibe. Recently discovered Soca after a street party in St. Lucia and LOVE IT!
Movies: Godfathers, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, any Marvel movie, What the Health (changed my life) and The Wild.
Books: Buddhism plain and simple, Law of Attraction, How to be a supple Leopard and Mohammed Ali's autobiography - what a legend!

Nathan
What she said! Plus taking the leap of faith to leave the 9-5 behind and chase my dreams.
