I am an open minded, easy going person who likes to travel with friends. I am accommodating and flexible, with a happy disposition. Bit of an introvert, but I like to be surrounded by friends and I enjoy their company. The little moments of rejoice and revelry with friends and family is what makes this life beautiful.
I am a computer science engineer by training but I work in a completely different field. I enjoy hiking and being in the midst of nature. I like to travel very leisurely, I like to run, like to read and like to cook.
I am an atheist, identity politics surrounding language, culture and gender interests me, and I am left leaning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a host -My home is right next to a beautiful river and is in a beautiful coconut farm. Friends and family who visit us always have a pleasant time. So why not share the pleasure with new people and make new friends!
But since I am away from home it is usually my mother who hosts most of the time.
(Interesting note - My place was also listed on Airbnb through my brother for a short while. My mom says the guests who arrive through me were always wonderful and better than the ones through my brother :)

As a guest - For the wonderful experience one could have in meeting and interacting with the people of that place, to know their stories and culture. Listen to their jokes and laugh. (Yup that's right I am an introvert I don't TELL jokes, I just listen to yours ;)
oh and also to save money when I travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies which are profound but also entertains and which are powerful and stays in your mind for a long time.
Love to read books which creates a world which seems real. Great writings which are taut and absorbs you into the world it has created, makes you to identify and empathize with the characters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is difficult to isolate one amazing thing, I am a happy person so I feel like I have felt amazed many times for smaller things. But it is always the the gushing rivers and waterfalls which gets me, the breeze and the mist while you are just standing there disconnected from rest of the world and watching it flow and the indescribable elation it brings is amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share south Indian cooking, I know many couchsurfers offer cooking but wait till you eat my delicious spicy tangy Mango-Lemon rice with roasted peanut and coconut garnish!
I can share languages - Kannada, English, Hindi.
I can share stories of armed conflicts in India.
I also wouldn't mind sharing my time to smoke - Not the cigarettes :)
