Overview
About Me
Short bio: I grew up in the Chicago area. Studied a bachelors degree in Biology and Studio Art (photography) in Michigan. I did a RTW trip and volunteered abroad from Feb 2014-March 2015 and then moved to Amman, Jordan where lived and worked in public health until May 2018. Summer 2018 was spent doing Workaway in Western Europe and trying to speak French. I’ve now been doing a Masters degree in London.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my best travel memories have been a result of couchsurfing. I love how it gives me insight into daily life in the place that I am visiting. For me, travel is even more-so about the people that you meet than the monuments that you see. When people host me I hope that they will have time to let me get to know them and what their passions are.
I also love learning about and experiencing alternative lifestyles such as permaculture, communal living and squatting.
Interests
I love community, social justice, culture, nature and dancing (although I am awful at that last one). I was going to say travel, but that seems to be a given here.
I have A LOT of hobbies. Some of them are: hiking, climbing, photography (digital and film), reading, handcrafts (knitting, crochet, cross-stitch), yoga, and learning languages.
