About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To stop letting life slip by, and to get out there and explore the world!

ABOUT ME

I'm half English and half American. I was born in Norfolk, England and grew up in London, England from the time I was 6 months old until I was 14 years old.

I then lived in Spain for 2 years before moving to Oak City, North Carolina at 16. I spent about about 7 months there before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada at 17 years old, where I currently reside.

Even though I grew up in England, I was raised by my American mother (and thus her American family), as my English father was not in the picture. Therefore, I sound English to Americans and American to the English. =P So no matter where I have lived, people have always asked me where I am from!

PHILOSOPHY

I really want to see as much of the world as possible in my lifetime.
To be quite honest, I'm not doing a very good job of that at the moment!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated in CouchSurfing just yet, but I really can't wait to get into it... Both from a surfing and hosting perspective.

I would have hosted already, if my girlfriend wasn't so hesitant about it! =(

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hopefully this area will be full of experiences in the very near future.

Interests

I love trying new kinds of food, I enjoy watching movies, I love listening to music, I play video/computer games, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE traveling and seeing new places, and I want to get into bicycle touring.

Oh... And I LOVE tea and drink a ton of it! Earl Grey and Constant Comment are my favs but I love it all, even herbal 'teas' are great. =)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have as varied a taste in movies as I do in music, but tend to steer away from romance and drama, unless there are action/thriller/comedy elements involved.

I know it's a bit cliche nowadays, but I genuinely enjoy many types of music. Right now I'm listening to alternative rock, but if I had to pick a favorite genre I would have to say it's techno/trance/dance/house (shall we go with electronic music? =P).

I'm ashamed to say that I really don't read very many books at all, unless Wiki counts? =P ... It's on my list of things to change!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Is this question supposed to be about introspection and questioning one's life?! lol... It sure feels like it!
Is it bad if I can't recall having seen or done just ONE especially stand-out, amazing thing?

Okay, so I've got one... but by no means is this the most amazing moment of my life or anything like that, but definitely a note-worthy event.

My girlfriend and I had just made our way up Mary Jane Falls trail at Mt Charleston, just north-east of Las Vegas, NV, and while we were standing about 15 feet from each other, mesmerized by the frozen water fall stretching out above us, a pineapple sized rock landed with a thump dead in between us. It had fallen from quite a height above us, so it most definitely would have been a tragic end to the day had it made contact with either of us!

From a moment of awe-inspiring beauty, gazing at a frozen waterfall, to almost dying... all in a split second!

Not sure if that qualifies as 'amazing', but at least that is a little anecdote for you guys. =)
