ABOUT ME

I'm heading to New Zealand for 3.5 weeks in December. I'm just finishing my first quarter of graduate school in Stanford, CA. This summer, after I quit my job and sold most of everything I own, I road tripped across America for 80 days. I started in Miami, Fl, drove to the arctic circle in Alaska, then back down the pacific rim to California.

During my road trip, I visited all the national parks, hit some outdoor concerts, met awesome people, and had a blast listening to rock n roll while I drove 15,000 miles.

While not traveling, I enjoy any outdoor activity, especially rock climbing, canyoneering, cycling, hiking, backpacking, snow skiing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch too many movies, probably 1/week. Love country music and classic rock. Haven't had much time to read recently, but hope to change that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got dropped of by plane on the edge of river north of the arctic circle in Alaska this summer, then had to canoe out 110 miles before I saw another human or civilization. Amazing scenery!

Went on a solo backpacking trip in Montana (2007) for 4 days. Took a gun, but never got to shoot a bear.

Teach, Learn, Share

Love learning.

In general: I'm a firm believer in allowing all people to have their own opinions and beliefs, and enjoy learning of conflicting opinions to my own, even if they're violently different. I think the world would be a better place if we could all allow each other to disagree with us and not try to convince them of our opinions - just realize there's a disagreement and move on.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, China, Gibraltar, India, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom
