Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much as possible about the world -- both within school, and outside through travel
ABOUT ME
I would say that I'm a fun, dependable, energetic and trustworthy friend - I think that's a pretty accurate description...I'm outgoing but often shy when it comes to describing myself - ask my friends! (or check my references!)
PHILOSOPHY
The best way to stay happy and motivated is to constantly throw yourself into situations where you can fully realize the all wonders the world has to offer
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I attended a number of weekly meetings and other events during a year teaching English in Seoul, South Korea. I am always willing to show people around whatever city I am currently in, and plan on doing some couchsurfing as part of my travels next year.
I can't host now - but I can show you around/hang out with you in Washington, DC
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I attended a number of meetings and events last year in Seoul and this year in Minneapolis, and am continually impressed by how many awesome, amazing people this community includes!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - I'm an avid movie watcher. Some of my favorites, in no particular order, would be: Oldboy, Persepolis, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Trainspotting, The Godfather, Lola Rennt, A Clockwork Orange, Taegukgi, The Sting, and Back to the Future - if you love any of those movies, you're an awesome person in my book
Music - My musical tastes are always changing, but I always enjoy old rock and punk (I feel stuck in the year 1979 sometimes) - I've really been getting into electronic music in the past few years. I also like indie, good 80's music (the bad I only really enjoy listening to with friends over a few drinks), jazz, classical, and world - a few of my favorites would be, in no particular order: The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Joy Division, New Order, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Replacements, The Velvet Underground, Neil Young, CSNY, Daft Punk, David Bowie, The Dead Kennedys, Underworld, Jethro Tull, Yo La Tengo, Sigur Ros, Operation Ivy, Pixies, Radiohead, The Talking Heads, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Chieftains, world music from Iran, Turkey, BOLLYWOOD, and elsewhere, and of course Bob Dylan
Books - I read both non-fiction and fiction...my favorites seem to fluctuate with what ever historical era or global region I'm most interested/traveling in....I love Dickens, Kerouac, Dostoyevsky, Nabokov, Salman Rushdie, the Harry Potter Series...and Dr. Suess - does he count? Lately I've really been getting into David Sedaris and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
