Hi there,

My name is Themis, 30 years old, from Belgium. After a few years of working as sound and light technician, I have decided to take a little bit of time to discover the world.
I have began my journey on October 2024, hitchhiking from Belgium to the Caribbean. Next destinations are dependent of the people I meet on my way.

I love to meet new people during my journey. This is the heart of traveling as I see it, way more important than see the top touristic places of the country. I also greatly enjoy hiking in various places, and discover incredible landscapes that each region has to offer.

I am traveling mostly by hitchhiking (cars, trucks, motos, boats, everything that can bring me a bit further), that is another great way to meet local people.

Couchsurfing is a great way to meet new people, that are often also better guides for their regions than any guidebook.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : I try to be open to new and unknown music. My favourite genres are rock, indie, reggae, and electronic.
I love the recently discovered cumbia and salsa, but unfortunately unable to make a single dance move.

Books: history, S-F, books about interesting life subjects. I am trying to discover authors Latinos, beginning with the crazy "cien anos de soledad" from Garcia Marquez.

Movies : various, if the movie is good (that is very subjective), doesn't matter the genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Crossing the Atlantic on a sailing boat was a unique experience
- Met so many great people during this year of traveling
- I was proud to walk in mountains above 4000m (it is pretty high when you come from Europe, even more when you come from Belgium)
