About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding whatever there is for me to find in New York

ABOUT ME

I completed a month-long bike trip in France in 2010 during which CS was invaluable to my experience. Before that I lived in several CS friendly houses back in Berkeley, CA. I recently moved out to NYC, Brooklyn to be more exact. I can play music, mostly guitar and singing. I've translated a song by The Do back into French, Le Pont Est Cassé.
While in NYC, I have done some writing projects, a film internship, and now am teaching. Otherwise, I am still exploring NYC.

PHILOSOPHY

A tree is a beautiful harmonious thing, because it doesn't have a central nervous system to screw it up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have interacted with and entertained couch surfers in the SF Bay Area. I stayed with a few couch surfers in France (friendliest, most generous people I have met--certainly more than most Americans). It was a lot of fun. Currently, I live somewhere with flatmates that aren't into couch surfing, but I am looking for a new place in July and hope to remedy that situation. Still, ask, and we'll see what we can do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great fun (see above). Toured Lyon, FR with the Great Sally Poulin. Completely unexpected.

Interests

Books, languages, songs, jokes, social constructions, what music/film/literature should be doing right now, what I should/should not be doing right now.

Running, and the running world. Racing against others, but mostly myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Author: Denis Johnson. Films: too many, French films recently. Music: The Do, but also Múm and Sigur Ros; Galaxie 500 and Jonathan Richman are always classic. Yo La Tengo!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a full double rainbow in Berkeley after a summer shower in late July while eating Cheeseboard pizza down on Shattuck, which basically kept me out there for another year.

My trip in France was pretty epic, though (see pictures).

Teach, Learn, Share

Can share knowledge of literature, English language, odd music (art rock). Teach me about France and French. Or tell me a funny story--or any story, I'm always up for those.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
