About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spread the gospel of love and understanding, and fight greed, dogmatism, and hate through education and open-mindedness.

ABOUT ME

I describe myself as a pragmatic optimist: hope for the best, prepare for the worst. My mom refers to me as Polyanna since I always look to the best in people.
I love teaching, particularly math and the sciences, and I have a passion for knowledge and learning new things. I'm happiest when I meet open-minded people or learn more about myself or the world, and I'm most upset by apathy or bigotry.
I think that life is easy when we don't get in the way of ourselves, and that everyone deserves to live happy and die happy. We're all in this together.
Blind love of country is unpatriotic. It wasn't until I started to recognize the flaws in my homeland that I realized where its true strength lay and how we must constantly strive to improve it in tandem with all nations of the world.

If one human being suffers, all of humanity suffers.

I believe in Gaia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Machu Picchu cannot be described by words or pictures. It has to be experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

My particular strength is in the realm of math and science, and I've tutored both subjects for years and love teaching. I'm also skilled at writing but have a lot of room to grow, and would love to discuss literature or any other aspect of the human experience. I have a philosophical bent.
