ABOUT ME
I'd say that I've got a lot of passion to direct toward any one of the many things that fascinate me in this world- but I have to admit that I do get bored with things occasionally. I've got to keep moving and I only tend to participate in things that mean something to me. So I suppose I attempt to compose my life out of elements of sentiment but life keeps recomposing me as I move along. I feel as though there is a lot to appreciate in this world and that it is essential to absorb as much of it as we can while we are still here. Life is a balance of energy... Joy, extroversion and life itself are as much a part of human actuality as sadness, contemplation and death. So I try to be as fearless as I can... but I'm still working on that. I've done a lot of reconstruction to my attitude and awareness in the last 4 years and it has left me hungry for new experiences. I have a lot of energy to spend on what I feel is worth while but I also try to pay respect to those elements in life which I don't understand.
PHILOSOPHY
Take it as it comes and leave it as it goes. Don't be afraid to put your heart in unsafe places you can always grow a new one. Learn what you can and carry with you everything that you've seen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted quite a few surfers from all over and all of them have been magnificent. My surfs have always been thoroughly enjoyable due to the generosity of gracious hosts. I have participated in many cs events and believe in the cause very much. Some of the best people that I have met have been through couch surfing and I always look forward to meeting more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch Surfing has changed my life and continues to do so. If not for CS I would not be as enriched by the kindred spirits of Nomads, Gypsies and the like. I have had a blast hosting in the U.S. and now I am in Shanghai hosting in a much larger city and having twice as much fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Hitchcock, Kubrick, Lynch, Tarantino, Antonioni, Aronofsky, Herzog, Korine. I like psychological thrillers and horror flicks. I like badass westerns like "The Good The Bad & The Ugly" and "Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid". I also like Kung Fu Films like "Enter The Dragon", "Shogun Assassin" and the original "Street Fighter" with Sonny Cheba.
Music; Anything that could be classified as an exhibition of raw emotion. It doesn't have to be pretty, just expressive. Mozart, Chopin, Robert Johnson, Skip James, Woody Guthrie and his contemporaries like Dylan. I like Leadbelly, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr., Elvis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Velvet Underground, a slew of 60's Brit. Rock & Psychedelia, The Ramones, Dire Straits, Ween, Radiohead, P-Funk, The Grateful Dead and The Band. I like a lot of Southern Rock, Jazz like Coltrane, Nina Simone, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis & Ella Fitzgerald. Flogging Molly & Dropkick Murphys. The Doors, Al Green (I really like most things Motown) i.e.; Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Diana Ross. I like old-school rap like Biggie and ESPECIALLY the WU!
Books: Steinbeck, Poe, Hesse, Shakespeare, Dante Alighieri, Bukowski, Hunter Thompson, and William Burroughs. I enjoy anything that has to do with the "Theatre Of The Absurd" (Esslin, Adamov & Beckett) or mid-late nineteenth century Americana like Emerson & Thoreau. I just wrapped up "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" by Robert Cialdini and am now in the middle of "The Mind & The Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force" by Jeffrey M. Schwartz, M.D.

Teach, Learn, Share
I love to play guitar and cook for people. One of my greatest joys is sharing what I have learned and theories that I practice with other people. I am always game for learning more about this, that or the other- especially musical instruments! I would like to get into rock climbing and Shanghai has some pretty cool rock gyms from what I've heard. I'd be up for that if anyone wants to help me learn. I also enjoy dancing but don't typically go clubbing very often. I'd like to learn whatever anyone wants to teach me.
