About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To backpack accross the United States, make some memories that will last a lifetime, and meet some awesome people along the way.

ABOUT ME

The way I look at it, how do I know I want to be where I am, doing what I'm doing if I have not traveled all over to see what else is out there. I am easy going, love cooking (was going to culinary school until I decided to postpone attending so I could leave on the journey of a lifetime), love music, sightseeing, food, etc. I love it all and want to experience it all. December 31st, 2011 I will be leaving to backpack accross the US. Can't wait to see the country and meet some awesome people.

PHILOSOPHY

Why avoid the puddle when you can walk through it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As of now I will just be surfing for the next year or so but when I come back to Michigan, actually if I come back to Michigan! I will for sure have my couch always open.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the HBO mini series Band of Brothers and the follow up mini series The Pacific. Favorite bands would have to include: Iron and Wine, Dance Gavin Dance, Death Cab, The Early November, and so many more. I love music. Books....I dont read much but currently am reading Walden by Thoreau.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been to Alaska two times and am basically counting down the days until I return. There is something about that untamed wilderness and incredible landscape that calls to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll quote Chris McCandless here. "The core of mans' spirit comes from new experiences."
I really believe that is true which is part of the reason why I am about to embark on the journey of my lifetime and hopefully in the process, I will one day be able to teach and inspire someone along the way.
