ABOUT ME

We're in the process of uprooting from the wonderful town of Ashland! We'll be traveling in Argentina/Chile until the end of April, then on to Hawaii to find some work, pay off those loans and enjoy the sun. We're a couple of fun lovin' peeps, looking for a great experience and love to learn how others live. We're both fairly laid back, easy spoken, and easy to talk to. Low maintenance and ready to handle anything!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

1.Being as best a host in this small town, providing a welcoming home and a comfy couch. 2. Traveling and exploring Argentina, couch surfing when possible to meet some great people and really dig into the culture.

The outdoors! Bike riding everywhere. Hiking mountains, hiking awesome trails, hiking around cities, swimming in the ocean, rafting Oregon rivers, camping, visiting hot springs, surfing, skating, and snowboarding. We love gardening, growing vegetables, weird plants and new species. Cooking - especially Asian and Latin dishes. Working on bread making and pizza making, and working on eating healthier. We LOVE farmers markets. Road trips, fairs and concerts. Drinking good beers, tasting wines, listening to live music. Smoking hookah. Reading funny, inspirational and educational books. Learning to take good pictures, and traveling to new places whenever possible.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Watched a pod of humpback whales breaching and swimmings towards our tiny boat. Held my breath as the passed underneath, within feet, of our boat. (This happened to both of us, on different occasions!)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

We can teach about living in Alaska, Hawaii and Oregon., and just about anything that falls in the category of our interests.
I (alex) am able to surf, skate, get lost in large cities, and am hoping to learn more about traditional plant species and cuisine of the place I go.
I (julia)love learning language, and I can teach some Spanish, unless of course when I'm traveling in Argentina, I'LL be learning Spanish. :)
I studied abroad in Argentina in 2001 for a year, and I'm super excited to be returning to see some old friends, new places, and enjoy the country more! Alex has studied abroad in Mexico, so we know a lot about being on exchange.
