Interests

Everytime I try to describe my interests, I usually end up rambling on for several paragraphs, not to brag about myself, but in hopes that I might be able to strike a chord with whoever might read it. In reality I have such a wide array of interests that I can talk about almost anything with a degree of intelligence, and those things that I don't know about, I always want to know more.
If I could pare down those things that I really dig in to, it would probably be the following three things.
Food- I am a chef by trade and truly this is one of my deepest passions. One of the best ways to tap into a culture is to eat their food. It says more about people than you might realize. Feel free to show me your favorite foods of I come to visit, and I will definitely do the same for you. Or just ask me about any food you want and I can tell you what I know.
History- Knowledge of what has happened before is essential when determining what to do with the future. Also, knowing the history of a country helps greatly in bridging that gap that keeps people apart. History defines people, places and attitudes beyond what the people themselves realize. Knowledge of history enriches your own experience exponentially.
Music- The single most powerful thing on the planet. Music, like food and history, is a defining element of a person. I've always know music as the thing that strikes to the very soul of a person and is essential for continued existence.
While these three ideas are at the top of my list, they are in no way independent of each other. These things mix and swirl on a variety of levels with almost any subject you can think of.
