Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movies include 'La Citee des Enfants Perdues', 'Harold and Maude', and 'Brazil'.
Favorite composers include Wendy Carlos, Debussy, Chopin, all because they create rich moods. I also like truly progressive bands like the old Genesis, the Beatles (progressive in my book), and Mr. Bungle as well as certain pop groups because these people explore new feelings in music and are newly creative. I usually appreciate anything earnestly exploratory as long as it's not haphazardly avant-garde indulgence.
Books I like: 'Le Spleen de Paris' (Baudelaire), 'A Clockwork Orange', Douglas Adams' stuff is fun, 'Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid', and I own a copy of the Codex Seraphinianus. These are a few titles that I enjoy. I also enjoy reading challenging non-fiction books or foreign literature when I have the time to lie on a couch and do so. Actually, a lot of the reading that I do is non-fiction, usually something skimming economics or science. Lately, I like thinking about ideas of Adam Smith and Karl Marx, and trying to see how they might be true or inaccurate in the world. This is a good time for observing such things. :)
